P1.5 Million Approved for Mosi Milling Project Expansion in Goodhope District

‎The Goodhope District Council has secured P1.5 million in government funding to expand the Mosi milling project, with land acquisition already underway.

‎The funding, allocated by the Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs, will go toward constructing and equipping the new milling facility. Council Chairperson Gofaone Nkwane announced the development during a council meeting yesterday.

‎“The project is aimed at diversifying the economy in the district,” Nkwane said.

‎Located near the Mosisedi farming area, the expanded facility will process large volumes of grain. A key focus will be the production of sorghum meal for supply to primary schools in the district. Goodhope is one of Botswana’s largest grain-producing areas.

‎Officials say the project is expected to reduce poverty, strengthen food security, and create local employment opportunities.

‎The council has already submitted a land application for the site.
