O-Green Joins as Sponsor for Debswana World Athletics Relays Gaborone 26



‎O-Green has come on board as a sponsor for the Debswana World Athletics Relays Gaborone 26, adding momentum to the historic event. The announcement was made today by O-Green Project Director & Okavango Solar Director Dzhasur Tashpulatov and Dr Abeer Ali Al Kalbani, Manager of National Workforce and Local Content Development. O-Green, which recently launched a 500MW solar power plant in Maun, said it was proud to support the prestigious relays, calling it a landmark moment for both Botswana and Africa. The sponsorship was facilitated by President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko.

‎Minister of Sport and Arts, Hon. Jacob Kelebeng thanked O-Green on behalf of the Government and Batswana, noting the partnership would help meet Team Botswana’s needs during and beyond the event. He added that O-Green’s support would leave a lasting legacy and assist in reviving school sports.

‎Omphile Sehurutshe, Advisor – Presidential Projects and CEO of the Aga Isago Foundation, confirmed the sponsorship was made possible through the Foundation, which was founded by President Boko. Prof. Martin Mokgwathi, Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee, said partnerships like O-Green’s ensure the relays will have a long-term impact on upcoming athletes.

‎O-Green’s sponsorship package includes:
‎- Refreshment tents for athletes and volunteers
‎- A photo zone with a solar installation manufactured 100% locally in Maun
‎- Branded banners and flags for publicity
‎- Puma-branded O-Green uniforms for Team Botswana athletes
‎- Garmin running smartwatches for Botswana’s top-performing athletes
‎- One-year sponsorship contracts for Botswana’s top three finishers
‎- Support to revive school sports
