Okavango Diamond Company (ODC) has pledged P10 million and 120 natural diamond- embedded medals for the World Athletics Relays, set for May 2–3 in Gaborone. The contribution adds to ongoing industry support led by firms such as Lucara, Diamond Trading Company Botswana and Debswana Diamond Company.
In his keynote, President Advocate Duma Boko said the event marks a milestone, noting that “for the first time in the history of global athletics, the medals will feature a natural diamond from Botswana.” He added the medals will “quietly tell the story of Botswana to the outside world.”
